For Rob

Rob, I pulled your comment from the last tread to post here. Many heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

30, 1926-JULY 30, 2007

It is with a heavy heart and through many tears that I write this. My beloved father just died of a heart attack about an hour ago. I found him slumped over in the bathroom on the floor. I tried to revive him as did the paramedics when they arrived. My brother, myself and my dad's girlfriend just returned from the hospital.

I'm quite shaken up right now but I wanted to share with someone what a wonderful man he was. A WWII veteran, an accomplished writer, a man of genius intellect, and most important, the most wonderful and generous father and husband anyone could ask for. He will be sincerely missed by all whose lives he touched.

On the bright side, he is now at peace and surely back by my mother's side once again.

I love you Dad, and if I can be half the man you were in life, I'll have been a success!

Love, you're admiring son,

Thank you Lin and Lace, I really appreciate it!

Also, Lin I didn't make it to the Rush concert unfortunately, I worked a Kiss concert instead (not by choice). I spoke to a couple guys who were at Rush though. They said it was a great show and they played quite a bit of the new album. Apparently security was tight and the stage hands weren't even allowed to hang out in our usual position on the side of the stage. they had to stay on the loading dock. Maybe this was because of the recent problem Alex Lifeson had in Miami a couple years ago. I'm just guessing. In retro, I'm kinda glad I wasn't there, I would have been upset with that "loading dock" situation. Not much of a review I know but that's all I've got. Sorry.

Dearest Rob...

I have not been online for days. Went online to see what was up at TOWHM and I saw someone pasted your post there about your Dad. I was so teary-eyed. I am so sorry for your loss and the fact that you had to see all that yourself. I had a very similar circumstance myself when my Dad died from a freak accident in December 2005 so your post brought it all back for me. You are not alone. If you want to talk about it I am definitely here...

all my best,

PS: also sorry you had to miss RUSH
