HELLLLLLLLOOOOOO!!!!!

I'm here Lin! Put a topic on the table. I'll comment. For now I guess there's that picture of Pete to comment on. It looks like he's questioning the intonation of his guitar. Maybe a warped neck? Maybe a truss rod adjustment is in order? Maybe he just finished a tune out of tune and is trying to let us all know it wasn't his fault? Tough call...

I think he was aiming a spitball at some turkey in the front row.

Hi Lin!
Hi everyone!

I hope all of you have a very nice Thanksgiving...I will be counting my blessings, that's fer sure.

Of course I am VERY THANKFUL for all the blogger love around here! :)

Not sure if we will find a restaurant offering a traditional Thanksgiving meal here in Taipei though! (I don't have an oven - most people don't here!).

Love to all,
Suexxx

Our Thanksgiving in Canada is long past, but there's always time to be thankful any time!

Everyone have a fabulous thankful weekend!

I was considering red Fender with cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving Day dinner but it looks like Pete already had that idea...wonder if that Fender tasted good.

Happy Turkey Day to all.

I will be at a wedding on the dredded BLACK FRIDAY so I wonder if that makes a difference, my cousin said he got the banquet hall for about 1/2 price because it was that day.

anyone who braves the stores that day and is not done by 11 am is insane in my book, I cannot take that at all.

And as for the photo, I just put it up because I thought it was cool. Idon't know enough about how a truss rod works to comment. I have never turned one before. What makes a neck go out of alignment? Rob, do tell...!!!

Everyone be safe and loosen your belt buckles two notches...

Pete's doing quantity-surveying.

Aw Sue! Looks like you won't be able to bake the cookies...

Ah well, I'll make an extra batch for you, then. :-)

Or Tink will.... Or both of us will...

Happy holidays!
- Lucy.

Hi everyone
Yay the blog is not dead. I was worried back there for a minute or two. Whew. I really like it here and would hate for it to dissolve because of who.com.
Suesjoy wanted to ask you...do you teach English in Tapei...is it cool??? i.e. if you do.
Pete is actually learning about Artist's Linear perspective as seen from the vantage point of his guitar. I think.

Lin asked what makes a neck go ot of alignment...

Well, lots of things Lin. Time itself for one thing. Extreme temperature changes for another. Bendig the neck at the top of the headstock Michael Schenker style doesn't help either. Leaving strings on a guitar at full tension and leaning it against the wall year after year instead of using a guitar stand isn't a good idea either. I would say leaving a guitar locked up in the car on a hot day is about the worst thing you can do.

In reality, just about any type of mis-handling of a guitar or improper care takes it's toll over the course of time. Just try and treat it like a baby as best you can...I guess you could say Pete may be the all-time worst example of "how to treat a guitar properly" huh? LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

okay, Robbio, I had heard of some of those things before, someone told me that the best place to store a guitar is in it's case, so I hope that is true, but I was wondering...

if PT has an amazing guitar tech like Alan Rogan and has had for years... I am sure Alan inspected and tweaked the guitar before handing it to PT on the stage in this photo. So, what do you think caused him to eyeball the straightness of the neck? Is he so fined tuned that he could hear/feel something awry? If so, that is pretty awesome. I would just love to know more about the things luthiers know...
I think it is cool. I love technical stuff like that...

Ciao for now

Rob,

Oops, better stop leaning mine against a wall.

My guitar was repaired over the summer (by a wonderful craftsman not far from me)... anyway... what had happened to mine was that it had gradually gotten worse over time. I'd left a couple of cracks in it over a period of years, and kept tightening the strings. Well, the whole thing slowly started to bow inward.

Well, no matter. She's as good as new now! And sounding great.

As for what Pete's doing in that picture? I award Tink the prize.

(I made NO sense!)

- L (Happy Thanksgiving to all!) (will Taz and the other dog be joining you at the table, Rob?)

Was it the Les Paul that you had repaired? How much did it cost you out of curiosity, to repair, not to buy?

Lin, were you asking me about the guitar repair? (coz I don't have a Les Paul... :-)) (just a plain, acoustic, Classical style Gibson). Anyway, it cost me $179 I think, or something like that. It had one long (roughly 5 inch crack) in it, and another crack parallel to it also, and then another minute surface crack (my son had stepped on my guitar when he was about 3 or 4). Anyway, the craftsman did a fine job (he also had to do some gluing and rebracing inside the sound hole). The finish looks great now (and is smooth) but you can still see the scars. (you just can't feel 'em).

Speaking of that guitar man, I'm gonna be interviewing him soon for a possible article for a children's magazine (don't know which one yet). I'm excited!

Yep, I was asking you..
coulda sworm you had an LP but I guess I got you mixed up with someone else...

pretty cool that you repaired it and did not give it up to the woodpile!

No Lucy. Taz and Riley got put outside for dinner. What's worse I had a new girlfriend over and got a bit carried away with her and forgot to feed the dogs until almost midnight. We ended up singing with her karioke machine for hours. I've never done it before but she is a pro. She has an AMAZING voice. I was totally blown away. I of course, just sang Who tunes and a few Pete songs. I directly sang "I'm Gonna Get Ya" and "Let My Love Open The Door" right up in her face. LOL!

I still feel bad for neglecting the dogs.

See what you women do to me!!!
