A day at the guitar festival

Hi Everyone,Just wanted to let you guys know I went to a guitar show and had 2 clinics to better my guitar playing. While I was there I got to jam onstage with Stu Hamm. We played 2 WHO songs pinball wizard and cant explain. I sang in front of about 100 people and Stu and I rocked the house. He is a phenominal bass player. I just wanted to share with you guys because we played some WHO songs

Hi Sue,

Stu has toured all over the world.
He has toured with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. He is also a huge Entwistle fan. He has also studied and played with Jaco Pastorious.

Sounds like a great time.

I finally dug out my Gibson Montanna
and played some Won't Get Fooled Again and Behind Blues Eyes this weekend and toyed with Real Good Looking Boy again.

I need practice!

I need clinics!

Dear Aaron Jr.:

You're a lucky kid to have met the great Stu Hamm. I had the great honor of meeting him a few years ago myself at the NAMM show out here. He seemed like a very friendly, down to earth kind of guy, not to mention he's one of the all time great bass players. I've seen him tour with Satriani many times over the years and have always dug his great stage presence. He's always bopping around to the beat and looks so happy when he's playing. He plays so good, yet makes it look so effortless; much like John Entwistle. His technique is amazing! I'll never forget the first time I saw him play with Satriani. He did the most incredible bass solo; including that theme song from Charlie Brown (whatever it's called) and Moonlight Sonata. He plays the bass lines on these with just his left hand (doing some heavy hammer-ons and pull-offs), while playing the melody by tapping out the chords with his right hand simultaneously. Personally, I'd be intimidated to jam with him. As a guitarist, I don't like a bass player blowing me off the stage. You've got more guts than me Aaron Jr.!
