Hi Everyone

Aaron jr and I are very happy to contribute to this blog. We have been long time fans of The Who well one has Jr has not been around that long even though he is a seasoned WHO concert veteran racking up 6 shows in 5 years. Anyways he found this website and maybe some of you will be interested on getting Pete into hall of fame for his solo work . Well we look forward keyboarding with all of you.

Hello Aaron Jr & Sr! Welcome aboard as team member bloggers!

And how's this for their first posting, a petition to sign Pete into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame! Not too shabby guys.

Can't wait to hear what else you've both got to say.

Blog on!!

Great idea to post that petition. Just signed it. Wanted to write a book, but alas only had a small box to type in. LOL!

Hi Aaron, Sr. Glad to know you guys are aok. I tried emailing calling and mailing something and i got no responses so I thought something was wrong.

Glad to know you are ok. I mailed something cool to Aaron and he said he never got it (over the summer) should I try again. After all he is my Who brother from another Mother, isn't he???

I hope you are all well.
When does Sammy get to go to his first WHO show???

Rock on, my tall friend!

I signed the Pete petition (again). I signed it or another one like it last year too. But let's face it, the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is a bit of a joke isn't it? I mean, why is Deep Purple not in there? Why is Rush not in there? Why IS Blondie in there? What kind of morom's are voting on this stuff? Personally, I feel until Deep Purple and Rush are in there, the whole thing is a sham. Velvet Underground is in there but Deep Purple isn't? What a farce!

Okay, Rob .... let the petitions begin!
Start a petition!! Yea! Come on, man ... you can do it! Get the word out there for Deep Purple and Rush!!

Lucy made a myspace bulletin for the Pete Petition. Excellent idea!

whee-whooooo! This is going to be an exciting year, I think. ;o)

Tink,
It's already been done!

The above should be the link to the Deep Purple petition for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. It's been around a while I've aleady signed it numerous times. Please join me in this attempt to right one of the biggest wrongs in the history of bla bla bla and get Deep Purple in there.

Again, Blondie is in and Deep Purple isn't? I'm calling for a Congressional Investigation (as soon as my butt heals). A bit of an inside joke, but some of you will get it:)

Cool! Here's the petition below for getting Rush into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame

Now if I can find a petition to get Blondie out, I'll be done!
Doubt that will happen though:(

I have missed you candor, Rob!
You are truly one of my favorite people I have come to call friend as a result of Pete's Blogging.

Since you are a Who fan and a Rush fan (just like me) I am going to petit your petition! Don't know what that means but I am off to do it!

ROCK ON!
-Lin

Thanks Lin, You're sweet!

Don't forget to sign the Deep Purple petition too. It only has 325 signitures. The Rush petition has over 27,000 already. Yet one more thing that baffles me.

Tink said...

Make that 327!

If anyone wants to cut and paste my blurb (that I wrote as a MySpace bulletin) here it is, so that perhaps others of us with MySpace accounts can continue to reach friends who haven't been reached yet:

Subject: Petition to induct Pete Townshend into H.O.F. as solo artist

Please consider signing the petition below to request that Pete Townshend be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.

Pete's been all of the following (and more): visionary, hardworking, long-lasting, genuine, uncompromising, daring, influential, creative, innovative, intelligent, compassionate, collaborative and versatile in the world of rock and roll. He's also one of the most quietly charitable musical artists of his time.

Pete Townshend is highly deserving of this long-overdue honor. Please consider.

Thanks!

You may even want to call it a "Pete-ition" (I thought of it too late... ;-) )

P.S.

I think this needs to be stepped up. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I noticed someone around the #1300 mark wishing Pete a happy 60th birthday. (The petition is not even up to 1800 signatures yet. Aren't 10,000 needed? Not sure.)

!!

oops, I mean "not even up to 1900 signatures yet". It's currently at #1873.

Found a *very* interesting site "ranking" candidates' future chances of being inducted. Take a look around:
Future Rock Hall

It also lists some "almosts". Sadly, Pete's not in that list. Though I'm glad to see The Moody Blues and Jethro Tull are. (Also Deep Purple)...

Rob, if you succeed, how will that work, at the end of the program will they announce the "Indian Giver Hall of Fame Award" and make her give it back?
