Townshend planning music fest 2008

Pete Townshend is going to be trying his hand at festival planning and promotion sometime in 2008..."Pete Townshend and girlfriend Rachel Fuller plan to expand their In The Attic webcasts and club shows into a full scale live and Internet festival next year. Fuller announced the couple's plans on her official intheattic.tv website and explained that, 'Next summer, me and Pete will hopefully be organizing a Woodstock-style festival called 'Atticfest.' It will be held over the course of a weekend and will either be held at a venue in the U.K. or U.S.'"Atticfest? I would have much preferred some sort of variation on "palooza" but hey, what can you do. I guess you can start with touting your band as "real" classic rock while others are simply punk. That's always a good idea. Pete Townshend to launch live and internet festival [The Rock Radio]

I am toooooooo!!!!!
Between this and ASH I don't know what excites me more???

These two are so devoted to getting good music out there and just flooding their fans with memorable music! A Festival is perfect for Rachel. When I saw what the PRinces dod for Diana last month at Wembley all I could do was picture Rachel MC'ing an Atticfest type gig, with wardrobe changes, special guests, amazing performances from Attic Guests old and new and an internet and tv following of millions.

I 'ope it 'appens!

Hey guys, I don't mean to knitpick, (is that how you spell it?) but the date on that festival announcement is March 21, 2007.
How did we all miss it for the last 6 months? I'm baffled. I also clicked on the two links contained in your post and man, the Pete bashing over his remarks about The Police not being a "classic rock band" are pretty harsh and un-fair.
Don't read them unless you want to get worked up.

Oh, and by the way, while I'm here: The Police were inducted into The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame BEFORE Deep Purple? Does anyone else see something wrong with that? Am I alone here? Please advise.

Take care,
Rob

U.S. or U.K. I'll be there!

(God, I'm optimistic, aren't I)

(a fool, more like!) (nothing ever works out for me...)

Great news though.... Pete and Rachel rule!

Rob:
I think Rachel announced the plans for the festival in a very 'this is what we are thinking' sort of way about 3 or 4 months ago. This is the first I have heard of it since then.

so I don't think we missed it for 6 months, just that no one was talking about it because Rachel had stopped talking about it.

Rob, I thought I saw Terry say that he was going to step back from blogging on a post at Rachels.

Blog on!
